Fishing Holidays in France - 40 carp in the first week!

This 19lb 4oz mirror carp was just one of 16 fish that Cassie landed during her French fishing holiday.

Partner Cassie caught plenty too and broke her personal best three times during the week to finish up with a 36lb fish of her own!

It's always nerve-wracking going to a lake that's never been fished before. Not just never fished by you, but never fished by anyone! After all, there's always the possibility that you might not catch anything and how embarrassing would that be? Fortunately for our very first guests, Stuart McLernon and Cassie Major, such worries were soon laid to rest as the intrepid duo hit into big fish after big fish, with runs on the hour, every hour during the first night. So much for Forest Lake Carp Fishing France not being a 'runs water'! By the end of the week, Stuart & Cassie had notched up an impressive 40 fish between them the biggest of which was a 37lb mirror.

Stuart & Cassie spent most of the week fishing with a mixture of sweet-flavoured boilies on a bed of pellets, but also had some success with Pepperami. Most of the fish seemed to be at the bottom in mid-depth water during their stay for which the weather was largely hot and sunny. Good fishing spots included in front of the trees on the damn bank and 10 metres in front of the crocodile peg (you'll understand the name when you come!).
