Peter Knie, back for a third season, kicks off the 2011 season by bagging 46 carp along with his carp buddy Rob O'Hagan. Click here for more photos.
46 carp in the opening week
The 2011 season got off to a great start as veteran Forest Lake Carp Fishing specimen hunter, Peter Knie returned for his third straight season to tempt out some of the water's big girls again. N
Once again he found that the greatest sucess came by fishing no more than a rod length out from the trees lining the dam bank. Accuracy being key, Pete and his fishing buddy, Rob O'Hagan, used the boat and rowed out their baits. The fish are becoming somewhat warier now, but the rigs are still not particularly sophisticated. Peter and Rob used inline 3.5 oz semi-fixed leads with 5-inch Snakebite hooklinks tied to Korda size 6 or 8 Kurved hooks. Their most successful bait was Nutrabaits Trigga Ice fished over plenty of free offerings. The week also saw Rob net his Personal Best, something that regularly happens at Forest Lake Carp Fishing.
Oh, and in case you're wondering - Pete has already made clear his intention to return again in the autumn. Find out what he had to say by clicking here.
