Carp Fishing Holiday with Personal Bests for everyone
After receiving a personal recommendation from old friend and Forest Lake Carp Fishing's current record bag holder, Lee Nicholls, Joe Winning quickly booked a last-minute, 4-night, mid-September break to find out what his former army buddy was raving about. Surely, it couldn't be as good as Lee said?
Sons Joe and Ryan decided to accompany their dad and shortly after arriving they were soon pinging in our recommended baits and waiting for the action to begin. There was just one small problem - they'd forgotten to pack bite indicators! No doubt this contributed to their lack of success in the first 24 hours, but one emergency dash to the big carp tackle shop later and the boys were soon finding out what all the fuss was about.
Heli-rigging two 20mm Matrix boilies over a bed of loose pellets and boilies and casting to the tree line & weed beds during the day, but switching to the margins at night, the trio soon notched up an impressive catch rate with 31 fish in three days. And like so many before them they each notched up their personal bests during their stay.
