Three day stag-do for two grooms-to-be
Having kidnapped Ian Collier direct from work, the four-man Collier Carp Crew jumped in the car and escaped from the Royal Wedding hubbub in Britain to celebrate two of the party's forthcoming nuptuals with a three-day fishing break in France. The fellas diidn't waste any time following their morning arrival. Walking round the lake (Ian still wearing his business suit), they quickly decided on their swims and set to work baiting up for their 72-hour session. And what a session it turned out to be...
"The majority of the fish were caught on the dam bank," according to Sam Collier. "Cast as close to the treeline as possible. We fished Matrix boilies, but had virtually no fish until 21.30 on the first night after putting in fresh boilies during the day." After that the action didn't stop and the Crew netted 36 fish in total. The tactics were simple as Sam continued to explain: "We fished simple rigs: single bottom baits (18 / 20 mm) with knotless style knots, baited regularly and had continual sport!"
